Today, members of the PBM Accountability Project of Colorado sent a letter to Governor Jared Polis (D) encouraging him to sign HB 1094.
"HB 1094 restores much-needed transparency to the PBM marketplace and removes incentives to drive up costs by preventing PBMs from earning income directly or indirectly based on the cost of a medication," the letter states. "In so doing, HB 1094 eliminates perverse market incentives that entice PBMs to systematically prefer higher drug prices over lower ones. "We all know there is no one simple solution to tackle this health care cost crisis. We can’t keep pointing fingers, but we can make significant progress tackling the issues piece by piece. Only by looking at every actor and every aspect of the system can we make real, lasting change. HB 1094 is a meaningful step forward."
